OK, I keep getting asked about fetish images and bdsm in particular, so here’s a quick guide to what I’ve got for you:

A couple of pics from my shoot with Barney of BD-Company.co.uk. I was about 3 months pregnant at this point, and had to put a lot of effort into sucking my belly in. I pulled half-remembered ballet moves in the forest, nude, while the Animal and Adz the Russian (who were *supposed* to be chaperoning me) wandered around trying to resist the urge to set fire to things. (Adz failed. Fool.) Twisted my ankle attempting to dance around all tippy-toes and barefoot in the grass… twas another brilliant shoot though. To see more of this photo set, visit www.bd-company.co.uk. Hopefully I’ll be working with Barney

Short answer: in a hurry, on the day of my first performance. Long answer: see below. Necessary stuff: Thin card, whatever colour you fancy for the background of the pasties (I used shiny silver card). Ribbon, in another colour that looks good with the card & pen colours (I used red satin, to match my shoes). Needle. Thread, the same

It was a baking hot evening on Sunday as we headed out to Reading for another night of Hot Muffins! burlesque at the Oakford Social Club. In the dressing room, we bemoaned the heat and tried to apply makeup before it melted. Our hostess Beatrix von Bourbon was running around wearing a sweet peachy pink prom dress and crinoline petticoat with 1950s geek chic glasses. After helping fellow newcomer Bette Noire (and isn’t that a quintessentially double-edged burlesque name?) into a pink corset and frilly frock that made me think of Little Bo Peep, I headed downstairs to practice biting

Every year, the folk at Butser Ancient Farm celebrate Beltane (May Day) by burning a giant man made of twigs and straw. It’s a Gaelic tradition, with equivalents in Celtic & neopagan cultures, to mark the start of the summer. More importantly IMO, it’s a reason and a place to gather with people who like that kind of thing and celebrate the increasing warmth and light of evenings (in the Northen hemisphere anyway) at this time of year. Aside from the fascination & mild amusement I feel when I see a field full of people dressed up as druids/green men/maids
Keep readingLast night was one of the highlights of Reading’s social calendar: Beatrix von Bourbon‘s bimonthly Hot Muffins! Burlesque show. Musical entertainment was provided by DJs Trouble Taylor and Blind Dog Abley [for whom I could find no URL, o the shame] as well as the ukulele-wielding Des O’Connor (no, not that one) while we waited for the pretty ladies to take the stage at the Oakford Social Club in Reading. There I witnessed the circus antics of Oh Mai!, a duo (Eris Eveiller and December Charm) whose lion-and-tamer act was cute and amusing. These curvy girls weren’t afraid to crack
