New Graze Food: Pears (Get A Free Snack Box!)

The new Graze.com snacks with dried pear are fantastic! And you can get your own box for free if you haven’t tried them yet – use code XF1RCB8. The one in the photo is “Poached Pear”; the main ingredients are pear, sultanas, vanilla pumpkin seeds and lemon infused sultanas. The pumpkin seeds are sweet, sticky to the touch, and taste like they should be a lot less healthy than they actually are. The fruit is tasty and tangy, and I’m surprised I’ve never tried dried pear before until this week. It really is awesome. On Tuesday I tried the new “Pear Tatin”,

Fancy Jacket Potatoes With Cheese

A very easy, but fancier and tastier than usual, baked potatoes recipe. This one is relatively healthy if you go easy on the cheese, and makes a simple but good-looking dish for a quick dinner on a budget. It also makes great finger food for babies or cutlery training food for toddlers. I used: 1 large baking potato per person lots and lots of cheese (mine was a medium Cheddar) ground black pepper mixed herbs (marjoram, basil, oregano and thyme) garlic granules What to do: Bake the potatoes (Google this part if you don’t know how… hot oven, an hour

This is a guest post by Marcela Spafford. Don’t forget to brush your teeth!  Popcorn has been loved for hundreds of years and while European settlers were a bit skeptical of the food at first, they quickly learned to love it. Here are just five fun ways to spruce up your popcorn. Chocolate Who doesn’t love chocolate? This is one of the most popular ways to flavor popcorn and is much

Someone who I used to like, then didn’t like at all, then didn’t really think about either way, used to have a T-shirt with this quote on it and a picture of some despondent bakery items. Despondency has hit the bakery. I didn’t like the T-shirt that much, but I always liked the words. Think on.

The Role of Alcohol in the Development of Yeast Infections

This is a guest post by Stewart Sticker. Machiavelli Id does not recommend making any major dietary changes without getting medical advice first.  Candida, or candidiasis, is the overgrowth of a normally benign microorganism called Candida albicans that lives in the mouths, digestive systems, and urinary tracts of every human being. This condition causes a variety of health problems, including yeast infections, digestive disturbances, skin rashes and irritations, thrush, chronic fatigue, and various other issues. Although Candida albicans usually lives quietly in your body, kept in check by friendly bacteria that share the space, certain life events can disrupt that

Graze: snacks delivered to your door [get a box free!]

This is how bourgeois I’ve become. These snack boxes are nifty! You give them your info via their website & tell them which of their snacks you like the sound of; they pack a selection in a recycled cardboard box and post it to you. All the snacks in your box are listed on a little leaflet with ingredients (fairtrade, organic & so on), some nutritional health info, calorie counts (often lower than a slice of buttered toast), etc. It’s ace. Get a Free Graze Box I got a voucher code for a free Graze box [thanks, Ocado], and then
