Since the sun is well and truly out and long holiday weekends beckon, I thought it might be a nice idea to share some tips and recommendations for make up survival at festivals. Based on trial and (considerable) error, I’ve come up with some golden hints I swear by. Hopefully these will help us to avoid the third-day-leprous look that can afflict the make up wearing festie-goer.
The only live music concerts I have really been to are the ones I’ve played at, the ones my friends have played at, and the ones my dad played at. YouTube has a near endless supply of vids with Electric Six’s Gay Bar as soundtrack. Some are genius. Most are… not. Here’s my favourites, because it’s a Saturday afternoon, Mini-MI’s asleep, the Animal’s in the bath and I need something to do. Star Wars Gay Bar – some nice concept synching but not much effort on lip synching. Muppets Gay Bar mashup – undeniable winner. I just watched him join a band on Twitter a few days ago, and already they’re releasing a single. For charity. And they’re a “Twitter phenomenon” type thingy.
She was a wonderful woman – a loud, aggressive, rude, immature, caring, funny, maternal, vulnerable whirlwind, burning past in a Land Rover while texting and throwing a cigarette butt out the window. Unforgettable.
